The politics and ethics of hospital infection prevention and control: A qualitative case study of senior clinicians’ perceptions of professional and cultural factors that influence doctors’ attitudes and practices in a large Australian hospital. BMC Health Services Research, 19(1). https://doi.org/10.1186/s12913-019-4044-yThese are the questions that I have regarding it: Background/Literature Review:Does the report answer the questions “Why ask the question? What do we know?”? Yes or No? How?Did the report include a clearly identified background and/or literature review section?   Do I think the background discusses aspects of my health care topic?   Does the literature help me understand why the research question is important to nursing?   Is the specific research question/problem/hypothesis connected logically to the literature review and/or theory presented in the background section?   Is the specific research question/problem/hypothesis relevant or related to my health care topic?   Research Design:Does the report answer the questions “How were those people studied? Why was the study performed in that way?”? Yes or No? How?Did the report include a clearly identified section describing the research design?   Does the design make this a quantitative, qualitative, or mixed method study?   Does the report address approaches taken to assure study rigor, internal validity, and/or external validity?  Do I think that the research(s) should have designed the study different relative to my health care topic? Does the research design align with the purpose that the researchers have stated?  Methods:Does the report answer the questions “How were those people studied? Why was the study performed in that way?” Yes or No? How?Did the report include a clearly identified section describing methods used in this study?   Do the measures and procedures in this study address my health care topic?   Do I think the measures used in this study would provide helpful and useful information used with patient population?   Do I think what the researcher collected, and the method of collection was the best way to address the clinical question?   Do I think the researchers(s) should have planned the study differently to address my health care topic?   Samples: Does the report answer the questions “To what types of patients do these research conclusions apply? Who was in the study?”? Yes or No? How?Did the report include a clearly identified section or paragraphs about sampling?  Did the report give me enough information to understand how and why this sample was chosen?  Is there enough information about the sample to tell me if the research is relevant for my health care topic?  Was enough information given for me to understand how rights of human subjects were protected?   Can I identify how information was collected about the sample?     Health Science Science Nursing NUR 125 Share QuestionEmailCopy link Comments (0)
